Sci-Fi Prints

The Look: Amazing sweaters with futuristic prints from Junn J’s Fall/Winter 2012 runway.

How Much We Love It: ♥♥♥
I’m not only in love with the prints, but also the proportions and volumes of the sweaters.
The whole collection had a lot of The military inspiration and was all about maxi forms.

Where To Get It: Have to wait till next Fall :-(

Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011

6 Jul

The Look: It was Couture for ALL at Jean Paul Gaultier’s show! For women and for men too!
After the show ended Gaultier asked his models to walk a red-carpet catwalk connecting two buildings on Rue Saint Martin where the show took place. This way even the normal Parisians could see his amazing creations!

How Much We Love It: ♥♥♥♥♥
Best Haute Couture collection of this season!
His last couture collection was my favorite Spring/Summer collection too.
And now with couture for men too, he has a long line of new clients waiting for him!

Givenchy Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011

The Look: Another small yet amazing couture collection by Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy.
Tisci took the artisan and couture workmanship one more step further, creating incredibly detailed gowns with elaborate embroideries and structured shapes.

How Much We Love It: ♥♥♥♥
Tisci used his same magical couture formula one more time.
Silk, pearls, lace, tulle, cashemere, pony, leather, feathers… It can’t get more luxurious than this!
My only complaint is that it’s a bit too similar to his last two couture collections..

Christian Dior Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011

5 Jul

The Look: A look at Bill Gaytten’s first (and maybe last) Haute Couture collection as the new creative director of Dior.

How Much We Love It: ZERO
I usually love contrasting colors, mixed patterns and postmodern madness…
But this is just messed up..
Gaytten has worked with Galliano for the past 23 years, but I guess this doesn’t mean he learned to put on a Haute Couture show on his own..
The message is loud and clear: BRING GALLIANO BACK!
