Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2012

16 Sep

The Look: Marc Jacobs opened his show in a totally unconventional way. The curtain opened and behind it there were all his models standing together in what looked like a nightclub/cabaret scene.
Everything else about this collection was unconventional too, from the futuristic shapes to the very original materials the designer used (shiny taffeta, translucent plasticcellophane organza to name a few).

How Much We Love It: ♥♥
The mix between experimental/futuristic materials and classic Marc Jacobs tailoring was very interesting.
It was just a bit too quirky chic and extreme Jacobs for me compared to the last super glamorous and vintage inspired collections he did.

Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer 2012

15 Sep

The Look: Oscar de la Renta usually saves the best (his amazing ball gowns) for last..
This time he decided to play differently and opened his show with three stunning taffeta dresses in mustard, green and red!
This colorful opening set the mood to another fantasticly bold collection!!

How Much We Love It: ♥♥♥♥
I can’t help falling in love with every new de la Renta collection!
They have this magical timeless beauty that other new and in-vogue designers find difficult to achieve..
(maybe Jason Wu was close enough this season).

Marchesa Spring/Summer 2012

15 Sep

The Look: Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman were inspired by Ilya Repin’s 1876 painting Sadko in the Underwater Kingdom for this collection.
They were also totally UN-INSPIRED by colors this time around. Everything reflected soft and very feminine hues of white, cream, platinum and ivory.

How Much We Love It: ♥♥♥
As usual every look was super detailed and elaborate.
Some gowns looked amazing, some a bit less and kind of dèjà vu..
But it was all very glamorous, over-the-top and veeery Marchesa.

Preen Spring/Summer 2012

13 Sep

The Look: “We’ve been looking at flowers, the idea of Victorian glass houses and reading Virginia Woolf,”, this is what Justin Thornton said about the influence behind this very floral and graphic patterned Preen collection.

How Much We Love It: ♥♥♥♥♥
Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton found the perfect combination between creativity and wearability in this summer collection.
Block colors, prints and embroideries never looked more casual and “mixable” together.
